Jarhi:--- On Tuesday, the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) took a big action in the sub tehsil office of Nagar Panchayat Jarhi and arrested Babu Lokhan Ram, who was posted in the sub tehsil, red-handed for taking a bribe of Rs 25 thousand. After this action, there was panic and panic in the entire tehsil complex.
According to the information received, the accused Babu was demanding a bribe from the victim in return for the settlement of the compensation case. Babu had demanded a total of Rs 40 thousand, out of which the victim Ramesh Rajwade, a resident of Kotia, had already paid Rs 15 thousand. Upset by the continuous demand for the remaining Rs 25 thousand, the victim complained to the ACB.
After investigating the complaint, the five-member ACB team laid the trap in a planned manner. At around 1 pm on Tuesday, the petitioner was sent to the sub tehsil by giving a marked note. As soon as Babu took the bribe amount in the sub tehsil premises, the ACB team immediately pressed.
On seeing the ACB team, the accused Babu started running away from the spot, but the team ran and caught him. After this, a hand washing action was taken, in which it was confirmed that bribes were taken through chemical reaction. There was panic among the employees and people present on the spot.
According to the victim, he was supposed to get a compensation amount of about Rs 80 thousand, but bribes were being demanded by Babu to advance the file. After the action, the ACB arrested the accused Babu and took him with him for further legal process. The incident has sparked a lot of debate in the area.
